Rupert Noffs is an Australian singer, actor, writer and producer working across cabaret, musical theatre, comedy, television and live performance.

A graduate of both NIDA and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Rupert is widely recognised for his work alongside comedy icon Mark Trevorrow in Choose Bob! 40 Ridiculous Years — the nationally touring celebration of Bob Downe’s four-decade career. In the production, Rupert performs the role of Philip McKrevis — Bob’s wide-eyed “nepo-nephew” — while also providing backing vocals and the off-stage “voice of Siri.”

The show toured nationally across Australia’s major comedy festivals, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, before returning for a regional encore tour performing in some of the country’s most iconic theatres including a sold out performance at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre.

Rupert is also a founding performer in Old Friends Sing Sondheim and the sold-out Sydney cabaret residency Old Friends Sing Sundays at Ginger’s at The Oxford Hotel. Both productions are co-created and performed with Mark Trevorrow and ARIA Award-winning musical director Bev Kennedy.

Earlier this year, Rupert returned to the stage with his acclaimed solo cabaret Broadway, Baby! at Ginger’s. Reviewing the production, Stage Whispers described Rupert as a “musical theatre tour de force” with “expert timing and humour.”

On screen, Rupert appeared as a cast member on All Together Now alongside Julia Zemiro and Ronan Keating, and has also appeared opposite Jacki Weaver.

During seven years living and working in New York City, Rupert performed regularly at Joe’s Pub and Parkside Lounge, collaborating with downtown cabaret icon Amber Martin and artists from New York’s celebrated live performance scene.

Away from the stage, Rupert spent more than a decade as a restaurateur and hospitality entrepreneur, co-owning venues in New York City and Australia with his husband, Chef Matty Bennett. Together they now run Australian Maid — a bespoke catering, private chef and lifestyle service based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

Rupert is also a contributing writer for Wentworth Courier, covering theatre, culture and Sydney’s evolving live performance landscape.

The grandson of legendary humanitarian Rev. Ted Noffs — founder of the Wayside Chapel, Lifeline and the Noffs Foundation — Rupert grew up surrounded by big ideas, bold personalities and a deep belief in the power of storytelling. He continues to work closely with the Noffs Foundation and remains deeply grateful for the legacy of compassion, service and social justice that shaped his life and work.

Rupert’s influences are proudly eclectic: the physical storytelling of Charlie Chaplin, the precision and humanity of Carol Burnett and Lily Tomlin, the theatrical fearlessness of Bette Midler and Barbra Streisand, and the musical truth-telling of Tony Bennett and Bob Dylan.

He is currently developing a new solo cabaret work and writing a television comedy series.
